Joel Embiid Reveals What He Would Have Given Up For One Healthy Playoff Run

Joel Embiid has had one of the most interesting careers in NBA history, as he came into the league as the face of 'The Process', the rebuilding phase of the Philadelphia 76ers that many believed was complete with the duo of he and Ben Simmons. Unfortunately, he's been injured more than he's been on the court in his NBA career, but when healthy, he's proven that he can be one of the most dominant players in the entire league.

The most dominant season os his career came in 2022/23 when he averaged 33 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists per game across 66 appearances, winning the only MVP of his career thus far. While it was an incredible season, given the lack of health he's had in recent years, the Sixers star has now revealed he'd happily give up that MVP award to have a healthy run in the NBA Playoffs with Philadelphia.

“I would trade my MVP for one healthy postseason run because I think that if I’m healthy, I’m dominant enough that I would carry us to win a championship.”

In his statement, Embiid's confidence once again comes out, as he states that if he's at 100%, he believes he's dominant enough to carry this Sixers team to a Championship.

In 2025/26, Embiid has appeared in 31 of the 76ers 54 games thus far, so while he's not at 100%, the hope is that he can be when the playoffs begin, and if that's the case, 2025/26 could be the year he proves everyone wrong in the post-season.
