"Hurry the F*** Up": Jalen Brunson Has Hilarious Interaction With Jordan Clarkson After Knicks-Jazz Game
Mar 13, 2026
In the summer of 2025, Jordan Clarkson signed a deal to play under the bright lights of New York City. By doing so, Clarkson left behind the Utah Jazz, the team that he’d stayed the longest with in his 11-year career.
So, when the Knicks guard played in Utah for the first time since his departure, he understandably had a lot of catching up to do. After the Knicks defeated the Jazz 134-117 on Wednesday, Clarkson had quick chats with former teammates like Lauri Markkanen and Kyle Filipowski. He hugged his ex-head coach Will Hardy, he was warmly greeted by Jazz team owner Ryan Smith, and he even had a moment with the team mascot.
All well and good, but when the time came for Clarkson to have his post-game interview, it felt like hours had passed after he’d paid his respects to the organization that housed him for six years. Before he knew it, Jalen Brunson was pointing him to the Jazz sideline reporter and giving him a not-so-gentle nudge.
“Hurry the f*** up,” Brunson said.
Perhaps Brunson didn’t want Clarkson to be late for their next flight, or the Knicks team captain was just messing with him. Either way, Brunson smiled and dapped up his backcourt partner.
There was no way that Clarkson would miss acknowledging the personnel that he was all too familiar with. After all, it was in Utah that he won Sixth Man of the Year. Back in 2021, Clarkson had played the best basketball of his NBA career up to that point, averaging 18.4 points per game on 42.5% shooting from the field.
That season, it was the “Inside the NBA” crew fellows that decided to have a little fun with him. In a heartwarming segment, the “Inside” team gathered Clarkson and his then-teammate Joe Ingles in a room for a little pop quiz on the Sixth Man of the Year award. Clarkson and Ingles were both frontrunners for the accolade, and when Ernie Johnson got to the final question, Clarkson thought that he knew the answer.

“How many Utah Jazz players have won it?” EJ asked. Clarkson said, “Zero.” Ingles, who had the correct answer unbeknownst to his partner, gave the correct answer: “One.”
That’s the type of nostalgia that Clarkson holds in his heart when he looks back at his days with the Jazz. On Wednesday, no one could tell him to rush through his reunions. Not even Brunson.
