Skinny Luka's Dominant EuroBasket Performance Should Excite Lakers Fans

This could be the year for Luka Doncic. It seems like ever since his rookie season, when he took the league by storm, everyone has been waiting for Luka to win his first MVP. He already willed a team to an NBA Finals appearance, and an MVP and NBA Championship are certainly the next step in Luka’s stardom arc.

Since the Luka trade, there has been a lot of talk about what Luka will be for the Los Angeles Lakers. He has already taken the team’s reins from LeBron James, and the Lakers believe he can lead their franchise back to the NBA Finals.

It’s starting to look like Lakers fans' hopes will soon come true. Luka has been on a tour all summer, showing how amazing his new body is and talking about how his revenge season for being traded is coming soon.

Now, Luka’s EuroBasket play is finally putting basketball evidence to the photoshoots and interviews.

On Thursday, in the Slovenia vs Israel EuroBasket game, the new and improved “Skinny Luka” was on full display. In Slovenia’s win, which secured the team a spot in the knockout round of the tournament, Luka was magnificent.

Luka had 37 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists, and three steals in the game. He is now not only the holder of Slovenia’s all-time scoring record, but he has also become the youngest player in the 21st century to have more than 400 career points, 100 assists, and 100 rebounds in EuroBasket.

If Luka continues to dominate like this, Lakers fans had better get ready. Luka was already an MVP candidate and a pretty much a Finals contender all by himself. Now he is looking better than ever and ready to dominate to world.
