Golden State Warriors Expressing Trade Interest in Josh Giddey

Josh Giddey is one of the most polarizing young players in the NBA, and while he has his weaknesses, he's also one of the most well-rounded in the league. This comes on the back of a season where he averaged 15, 8, and 7 for the Bulls, but thus far in the offseason, the two sides have failed to get a deal done.

Reportedly, the 22-year-old Australian is looking for $30 million annually on his next deal, and to this point in the offseason, the Bulls have been unwilling to give him that. There has been movement on a potential deal, with insiders noting that momentum is gaining for a three-year deal with the team, but if not, a trade becomes all the more realistic.

Now, insider Jake Fischer has reported that the Golden State Warriors have expressed interest in the former first-round pick, and with an aging backcourt, he could be the perfect long-term replacement.

It's unclear at this point in time just how far conversations between the two parties have gone, with Fischer noting that the Warriors have simply expressed interest, with no revelation in how possible a trade with the Bulls could become. Sure, Giddey's shot needs plenty of work, but as of right now, he can get to the hoop, play solid defense, and playmake as well as any other guard in the NBA, and while it's likely he remains in Chicago, if he lands in Golden State, we may see him take a huge leap forward.
