NBA Analyst Makes Wild Prediction About Stephen Curry's Future
Sep 6, 2025
The Golden State Warriors are in an interesting position. Stephen Curry looks like he still has a lot left in the tank, yet the Warriors aren’t perfectly positioned to help him deliver a fifth NBA championship to the Bay Area.
Part of the reason for this is the Warriors’ ownership attempting to nurture two timelines. Developing young talent while also contending during Curry’s prime. They are now stuck in the middle. They have a couple of exciting young players, but nobody good enough to carry the future of the franchise.

Predicting what the Warriors team will be like in a few years when Curry is almost 40 years old is a difficult thing to do. Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report attempted to do just that. He wrote “Predicting Every NBA Team's Best Player 3 Years From Now,” and his choice for the Warriors' future best player is somewhat shocking.
“What if Curry is still an All-NBA player in three years?
Stranger things have happened. And though Steph would be entering his age-40 season in three years, long-time rival LeBron James is proving success is sustainable at that age. Plus, it's not like the Dubs are teeming with prospects…If Curry's still around, he's got a great shot to be Golden State's most effective player. That says a lot about him, but it also speaks to the Warriors' uncertain future.”
As exciting as this may seem, if Curry is the best player on the Warriors at almost 40 years old, the Warriors are going to be in trouble.
It is unprecedented for a player of that size and that age to lead a team to an NBA championship. If the Warriors don’t want Curry’s last couple of seasons to look like Kobe Bryant’s, they should hope this prediction doesn’t come true.
