Pistons Jaden Ivey Potentially On the Trade Block According to NBA Reporter

The Detroit Pistons hoped they'd drafted a star in Jaden Ivey to pair with Cade Cunningham, but to this point in his career, he's not taken the leap that the team was hoping for. The 23-year-old played in just 30 games a season ago before suffering an injury, and without him, Cunningham and the Pistons went on a run to the postseason, leading many to believe they're next up in the East.

However, there's a chance the team builds around Cunningham, Ausar Thompson, and Jalen Duren, all of whom were key to their playoff run a year ago. That leaves Ivey potentially on the outside looking in, because although he's slated to start at the two this season, his situation is reportedly "open for interpretation."

That comes from reporter Brett Siegel, and while that doesn't mean he's definitely on the trade block, the lack of commitment to him leaves that possibility wide open moving forward as the team looks to take the next step.

Over those 30 games a season ago, Ivey appeared ready to break out, averaging 18 points a night on 41% shooting from three, but after the injury, it's now become unclear whether or not the team is confident building around him.

Regardless of what they do, the future is incredibly bright in Detroit, and if Ivey can come back at 100% and take another step forward in 2025–26, he could either become a blockbuster trade chip for Detroit or a key part of their future.
