Milwaukee Bucks Reportedly Shut Down Trade Offer From Golden State Involving Jonathan Kuminga
Aug 20, 2025
Jonathan Kuminga's situation in Golden State has been less than stellar in recent times, and as of right now, all signs point to the relationship ending at some point in the near future. So far this off-season, we've seen both the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings show interest in the 22-year old rising star, but so far, nothing has come close.
That is because the Warriors have shown little interest in trading him, even after the former first-round pick has continued to shut down any contract negotiations with the organization. The lack of trade interest from the Warriors hasn't stopped some conversations, and now, it's been revealed that the team were recently talking to the Milwaukee Bucks about Kuminga.
According to a report from Brett Siegel, the Warriors asked for Bobby Portis in a potential deal, and while it's unclear what other pieces were involved in a potential trade, the Bucks reportedly shut this down quickly.
In Portis, the Warriors would have landed an experienced big man that can play off the bench or in the starting lineup, but with the Bucks needing all the depth they can up front, it makes sense if they wanted to hold onto Portis.

What this does tell us is that for the right deal, the Warriors are indeed open to moving Kuminga, and while it's clear they would like to repair the relationship and keep him moving forward, with the way things are going on the players end, it's more likely than not that we see him moved in the near future.
