Grizzlies Star Jaren Jackson Jr. Provides Positive Update On Recovery Following Off-Season Surgery
Sep 15, 2025
The 2024-25 campaign was another very successful one in the career of Jaren Jackson Jr., as he continues to be one of the best stretch bigs in the entire NBA. On top of that, he's one of the best rim protectors in the league, and with him and Ja Morant healthy, the ceiling remains very high for the Memphis Grizzlies, even in the incredibly loaded Western Conference.
Unfortunately, the star forward underwent surgery this offseason on a turf toe injury, an injury that can linger for quite some time. However, the update on his status was very positive, as he recently revealed that he's progressing well, noting that everyone will be happy when the new season rolls around.
“I’m feeling good. I’m progressing the right way. I’m doing what I need to do. Every day has been a building block. I’m aiming for whatever my body is telling me, but I’m progressing the right way. I think everybody is going to be happy.”
While he doesn't explicitly state that he'll be back for training camp or even the start of the regular season, as of right now, the signs are positive that he'll be at 100% early in the 2025-26 season.

Last season, Jackson Jr. posted an impressive 22 points and 6 rebounds on the season, and with a talented team around him, if he can recover to 100% from his offseason surgery, there's no reason why the Grizzlies can't be a contending team in the Western Conference.
