Two Intriguing Contenders Showing Interest In Celtics Guard Anfernee Simons

Anfernee Simons was just acquired by the Boston Celtics, but already, there have been rumours that the team could be looking to unload him at some point. We've seen that once this off-season with Boston, as they traded Georges Niang just days after acquiring him, so nothing can be ruled out when it comes to Simons.

What's clear is that if Simons is truly available, there's plenty of talented teams out there interested in the 26-year old guard, who posted a career high of 23 PPG back in the 2023/24 season. Now, we know of two contending teams that are showing interest in Simons, as Sam Amico has noted that the Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers are leading the race to land the former first-round pick.

It's unclear if the Celtics are truly shopping Simons or if they'd simply listen to offers on the talented young guard, but if he is truly available, there's interest out there. For both of those teams, Simons could play a spark-plug role off the bench as both look to go deep in the NBA Playoffs this season, but for now, it's likely that the Celtics could hold onto Simons until the trade deadline.

To this point in his career, we've not seen Simons on a consistent winner in the NBA, as he's started with the Trail Blazers for the past seven seasons, so whether it's Boston or another contender, he's got adjustments to make. However, Simons has averaged over 17 a night in each of his last four years, so if he is to play on a contender this season, whether it be Boston or a team that acquires him, he's expected to take his game to another level.
