Paul George Makes A Major Statement On Luka Doncic's Potential

Through seven years of his career, Luka Doncic has been absolutely fantastic, and with the move to the Lakers, many believe he can take his game to another level entirely. This summer, he also shed plenty of weight, getting into the best shape of his career, which gave Lakers fans hope of chasing another NBA Championship in 2026.

However, given his potential, he should be expected to lead his team deep into the postseason every single year, as he averages an incredible 29, 9, and 8 over his career to this point. Unsurprisingly, that has led many former and current players to see him as a potential all-time great, with Paul George stating on his podcast that he believes he could be the best international player of all time.

“We’re talking about being the biggest international player now. That’s surpassing GOATs, you know what I mean? That’s surpassing Dirk, that’s surpassing Tony Parker, that’s surpassing Hakeem. He’s got a chance to be the biggest international guy. Surpassing Giannis, in a way. He’s got a chance to be one of the best to ever do it. His game is just way older than what he is. He’s tough, man. He’s a problem. Big fan of Luka. And he talks that sh*t too. He’s a cold killer.”

As of right now, the likes of Dirk Nowitzki, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, and others have won at least one MVP award, meaning that Doncic is a little behind in the race for best international player ever. However, he's still just 26 years of age, and now with the Lakers, he'll have an organization that will do anything to help him win, so don't be shocked if George's words eventually ring true.
