New York Knicks Lose Key Veteran For A Month With Injury
Nov 27, 2025
The New York Knicks have built a very impressive, deep roster in recent years, and in 2025–26, we've seen some fantastic performances from almost everyone on the team. Perhaps the most impressive, however, was the 36-point outing from veteran Landry Shamet, who only found his role in New York late in the offseason after battling others for a roster spot.
Now, however, the veteran guard is set to miss up to a month of action following an injury to his right shoulder, the same shoulder that caused him to miss significant time last season.
This season, Shamet has been a key piece of the Knicks' rotation, scoring 9 points a night while shooting over 42% from three as he has emerged as a genuine option in the team's starting rotation under new Head Coach Mike Brown.
While Shamet isn't going to be a long-term answer in the starting lineup, he's a key piece of the Knicks' rotation, but unfortunately, this injury is going to cause a significant setback for him. This comes after the Knicks have already lost OG Anunoby for a number of weeks, with their depth truly being tested early in the season after they came into 2025–26 with such high expectations.

When he returns, Shamet is likely to once again play a key role for New York, but with this being his second injury to the same shoulder in less than 18 months, only time will tell if he can get back to 100% for the remainder of the 2025–26 campaign.
