Draymond Green Calls Out The Warriors Commitment To Winning This Season

Last season, the Golden State Warriors looked dead and buried, but then they made a huge move at the trade deadline, picking up Jimmy Butler in a move that reinvigorated the entire organization. While they weren't able to go deep in the NBA Playoffs, this was a team that had a very solid season, and coming into 2025–26, the hope was that they could compete in the loaded Western Conference.

However, they're off to a slow start this year, posting a 6–6 record through their first 12 games, and in the West, that has them sitting in eighth place. There may be some drama on the way though, as star forward Draymond Green has quickly called out the team and their commitment to winning this season.

“I think everyone was committed to winning [after the Butler trade last season] and doing that any way possible. Right now, it doesn’t feel that way.”

It's unclear exactly who Green was targeting with these comments, but given the inconsistencies that the Warriors have shown this year, he may certainly not be wrong as he calls out the team for not showing the same commitment as a year ago.

We're yet to see if this drama will extend beyond the Warriors locker room into a potential trade or some issues on the floor, but right now, they don't look like the Warriors that we saw after they acquired Jimmy Butler, and that could lead to some major changes coming.
