Growing Disconnect In Orlando Between Paolo Banchero and Jamahl Mosley Has The Organization Worried

The Orlando Magic have built one of the most impressive young cores in the NBA, and after adding Desmond Bane in the offseason, hopes were high in a weakened Eastern Conference heading into this season. However, the team has not found its best form early in the year, going 5-6 as it looks to once again build its chemistry in 2025/26.

Despite the early inconsistencies, with a core led by Paolo Banchero, Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner, and Wendell Carter Jr., there's plenty to be optimistic about moving forward. Unfortunately, there is some tension brewing in Orlando, with a recent report from Grant Afseth revealing that there is a 'growing disconnect' between Banchero and Head Coach Jamahl Mosley.

That has led to some fears about the future within the Magic organization, and if the losing continues early in 2025/26, this could grow into a much bigger story down the line, with the team looking to chase a deep post-season run this year. It's unclear at the moment what the issue is between the two parties, but given that this is Mosley's fifth season behind the bench in Orlando, the belief is that he and his star player should have found their chemistry by now.

As of right now, there's very little detail on the potential fracture in the relationship between Mosley and Banchero, but given their potential this season, it's safe to say that this is a major story to keep a close eye on moving forward.
