John Wall Links Anthony Davis to A Surprise Eastern Conference Contender

The Dallas Mavericks came into the 2025–26 season optimistic in their current core, and while they've seen some positives early in the season, it's been a struggle overall as they have posted a 3–9 record through their first 12 games. With Cooper Flagg representing a major piece of the future, their struggles have led to trade rumors around their veteran core, especially Anthony Davis, who the team acquired in the Luka Doncic deal a year ago.

When he's on the floor, Davis has been great once again for this team, but unfortunately, he hasn't been healthy consistently enough, and it has led to many seemingly giving up on him. Now, trade rumors around their star big man are flying, with former NBA star John Wall recently linking Davis to his hometown team, stating that he's hearing Chicago is a perfect fit for AD.

"You been hearing he wants to go back to Chicago and see what's going on."

Wall isn't the only one linking Davis to the Bulls either, as Evan Sidery notes the team could look to move Nikola Vucevic, Coby White, and draft picks to land the star big man, hoping to pair him up with the red-hot Josh Giddey.

Ultimately, it's just a matter of when, not if, the Mavericks decide to trade Davis this season, and whether or not it's Chicago, if a contending team can land the All-NBA big man and keep him healthy, he could be a difference maker for many teams around the league.
