New Report Reveals Just How Poor Nico Harrison's Basketball Evaluation Skills Were
Nov 12, 2025
On Tuesday, the Dallas Mavericks officially ended the controversial tenure of General Manager Nico Harrison following some shocking moves. While it's the Luka Doncic deal that many point to as the beginning of the end, there were many mistakes leading up to that, with the Mavericks looking to close the book on Harrison's up-and-down tenure.
Before that, though, some in the organization had looked to throw him under the bus, with one anonymous source within the Mavericks organization revealing a shocking detail about his basketball analysis and how poor he truly was in that department.
“One team source recalls a document where Nico Harrison placed Jrue Holiday within the same tier of talent as Nikola Jokić.”
While Jrue Holiday is a fantastic player in his own right, an NBA Champion and an Olympic Gold Medalist, there's just no world in which he is in the same tier as a three-time MVP and one of the greatest players in NBA history. Somehow, this source revealed that Harrison had the two on the same level, despite many considering Jokic's current peak to be among the greatest in league history, as many believe that he should have won at least five MVP awards.

Ultimately, Harrison's basketball analysis was one of the reasons he's now no longer employed by the Mavericks, and while many can commend him for taking a chance with the Doncic trade, it's safe to say that fans will never forgive him, and neither will many in the Mavericks organization.
