NBA Insider Compares Bam Adebayo to Guard on Rival Team

There are a lot of unsung heroes in the NBA. Guys who play hard every night have an All-Star-like impact for their teams, but maybe don’t have the flashiest play style or statistics to put them at the top of NBA conversations.

Bam Adebayo is one of those players. Bam is one of the best all-around players in the league. He can score, playmake, and is one of the best defenders in the league. Still, somehow, Bam is still underappreciated, despite his three All-Star appearances.

NBA insider Zach Lowe prides himself on appreciating the blue-collar NBA players. He recently compared Bam to another player who similarly has a great impact but may not get the appreciation he deserves.

"I think Bam is the big man version of White. Even when his stats are down, and Derrick White's shooting is down, Bam's stats are way down, you just feel like everything he's doing on the court is geared towards helping my team win. Even in a year like this, if you told me Bam belongs on the All-Star team, I can't put him and Norman, but you can flip-flop them. He's having a below-average offensive year, but he's just this electrical current that's powering everything you do about winning."

Every team needs guys like White or Bam. Especially contenders. Both Bam and White are elite defenders and pretty damn good offensive players as well. However, when their offensive numbers dip, people start to overlook their overall impact. White and Bam probably don’t even care. That’s just the type of players they are. As long as their team is winning and they are putting in their maximum effort, they are content.
