Warriors Star Questioning the Future Plans of the Team, Team Risking Disaster
Sep 19, 2025
Nothing is new for the Golden State Warriors. Jonathan Kuminga’s contract negotiations are still going nowhere, and the team still hasn’t signed a single other free agent this offseason. Everybody around the league is starting to wonder if the Warriors really have a grip on things, or if they are going to throw away the last few years of Stephen Curry’s prime.
While there hasn’t been much noise from the Warriors' veterans about the team’s inaction, a recent report indicates that their patience may be running out.
On the Dubs Talk podcast, Warriors reporter Dalton J. Johnson shed some new light on what some of the Warriors’ stars have done this offseason while the Warriors have done nothing.

“In that ESPN article, they mentioned that Draymond and Jimmy have checked in and reached out to Jonathan Kuminga. I can confidently say that Jimmy Butler has also reached out to the team and been like, ‘What's going on here? I just wanted to know the plan.’
This piece of Warriors news could be taken in a few different ways. On one hand, it shows that Jimmy is committed to trying to win big with the Warriors and is curious about what the front office plans to do. On the other hand, this could be the beginning of something bad.
We’ve seen what happens when Butler isn’t happy with his team’s ownership, coaching staff, or even roster. Butler can quickly go from being the best teammate and franchise darling to a locker-room cancer.
For the Warriors, these questions are more about curiosity and less about Butler being unhappy with the Warriors’ offseason strategy. One thing is for sure: if the Warriors don’t figure out what they are going to do about Kuminga and the rest of their roster soon, they are going to have to keep answering questions to their fanbase and the stars on their own roster.
