The 5 Longest Regular Season Winning Streaks In WNBA History
Sep 16, 2025
On Thursday, the Las Vegas Aces ended their 2025 regular season with a 103-75 blowout win over the Los Angeles Sparks. Though the 28-point margin was an excellent display of dominance on both ends of the floor, there was a deeper level of significance to this victory achieved at Michelob ULTRA Arena.
It was the Aces’ 16th consecutive win of the season, which earned A’ja Wilson and her current squad a place in the history books. To be specific, the Aces’ recent victorious run is tied for the second-longest winning streak in a single WNBA regular season.
Revisiting the teams that pulled off similarly impressive streaks will allow fans to put the Aces’ winning ways into perspective. All of these teams have been bannered by a who’s who of elite WNBA superstars.
2021 Connecticut Sun (14 Straight Wins)
During the regular season, every team looks to finish strong in order to bring momentum to the playoffs. In 2021, the Connecticut Sun did just that, rattling off 14 consecutive wins to end their regular season. This squad was led by a fearsome frontcourt of Jonquel Jones (19.4 ppg), DeWanna Bonner (15.2 ppg), and Brionna Jones (14.7 ppg).
1998 Houston Comets (15 Straight Wins)
Though the 2021 Connecticut squad failed to win the WNBA title, the 1998 Houston Comets capped off their regular season brilliance with a conquest of the WNBA Finals. Prior to their championship win, the Comets won 15 straight games, thanks in large part to their big three of Cynthia Cooper, Sheryl Swoopes, and Tina Thompson.
2014 Phoenix Mercury (16 Straight Wins)
Among the numerous accolades won by Diana Taurasi in her legendary career, she holds the distinction of leading the 2014 Phoenix Mercury squad that went undefeated in 16 straight games. Taurasi, who won Finals MVP honors that year, had help from Brittney Griner, Candice Dupree, and Penny Taylor.
2025 Las Vegas Aces (16 Straight Wins)

Earlier this season, the Aces looked like they were nowhere near playoff contention. Eventually, they found a way to put the initial setbacks behind them and go on a 16-game winning streak. MVP contender A’ja Wilson was at the forefront, while Jackie Young, Chelsea Gray, and Jewell Loyd played their respective roles well.
2001 Los Angeles Sparks (18 Straight Wins)
More than two decades before Wilson and her teammates left their mark on the league, the legendary Lisa Leslie led a Los Angeles Sparks team to a whopping 18 consecutive victories. Leslie, who was named WNBA MVP that season, continued to steer the Sparks to a strong playoff run that culminated in the franchise’s first WNBA championship.
