Myles Turner Opens Up On Feeling 'Celebrated' In Milwaukee
Sep 30, 2025
After years and years of being involved in trade talks, Myles Turner was a key piece for the Indiana Pacers and their run to the 2025 NBA Finals, which saw them fall just short in Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Then, he shocked the entire NBA world, signing a free agency deal with the Milwaukee Bucks when everyone expected him to remain with the Pacers on a long-term deal, agreeing to a four-year, $109 million contract.
The move sees him paired up with All-NBA talent Giannis Antetokounmpo, and given that temptation, it's easy to see why he chose the Bucks over the Pacers on a big contract. Now, however, we may know another reason why he chose to depart Indiana, as he recently opened up on how he already feels celebrated in Milwaukee, something he didn't feel with the Pacers.
“I'm in a city now that wants to celebrate me. There's a great quote that says, 'go where you're celebrated.' I feel like that's here.”
This shot at Indiana comes after Turner spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the Pacers, with the sharp-shooting big man seemingly unleashing feelings that he had stored up for quite some time, something that not many fans expected.

Now, we'll wait to see how Turner's first season with Milwaukee goes, but if the team can get some contributions beyond Turner/Antetokounmpo, this team will no doubt be a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference once more.
