New York Knicks Add Another Veteran Guard Via Free Agency

For some time now, the New York Knicks have been linked to a list of veterans as they looked to fill out what could be an NBA Finals caliber roster. On Thursday, the team confirmed they had signed Landry Shamet to a one-year deal, with many believing that he would take up the Knicks final roster spot for the 2025/26 campaign.
However, they surprised the NBA world on Friday by inking another of those veterans that were on their list, as it was announced the team have also signed point guard Malcolm Brogdon.
The former Sixth Man of the Year joins what is now one of the deepest teams in the entire NBA, and is likely to be given a role as the lead ball handler off the bench for the upcoming season. Last year, the 32-year old veteran averaged a solid 13, 4 and 4 for the Washington Wizards, playing in just 24 games as he was dealing with plenty of injury issues.

Just two years prior, Brogdon won the Sixth Man of the Year award by averaging 15 a night in 26 minutes per game, and after the Knicks went so close to the NBA Finals a year ago, they're hoping that's the type of production they can get again. Whatever the case, this is now a Knicks team that has the most balanced lineup in the NBA, and if Brogdon can be the lead ball handler off the bench to some success, they'll be a team to watch in 2025/26.
