Memphis Grizzlies Forward Arrested; Adding To The Woes Of The Struggling Team

Just a few years ago, the Memphis Grizzlies were one of the most exciting young teams in the NBA, with many seeing them as a genuine NBA Championship threat for years and years to come. Unfortunately, things have fallen apart, and after the team dealt Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. among others, the future all of a sudden looks very uncertain for the Grizzlies.

One young player that has shown potential for the team is forward Brandon Clarke, but unfortunately, he has appeared in just two games in 2025/26 due to injury recovery as well as a new injury. On Wednesday, he added to that woe, as the 29-year old was arrested on charges of speeding, reckless driving and possessing a controlled substance.

While star point guard Ja Morant hasn't been in trouble with the law, there's certainly been question marks about his behaviour off the ice, and now, Clarke has added to those woes with his latest act.

At 29-years of age, Clarke is likely considered expendable by many in Memphis given his complicated injury history, and now with this, it's safe to say that his job is definitely on the line moving forward. Ultimately, he has the talent, but with a career average of just 10 points and 6 rebounds, with this latest arrest, it's safe to say that unless something changes, this may be the end of his tenure in Memphis, and potentially the NBA as a whole.
