LeBron Talks About Having Stephen Curry on His Podcast Despite Old Rivalry
Nov 19, 2025
LeBron James and Stephen Curry are the two greatest players of this generation. Between them, they have eight titles, six MVP awards, and 31 All-NBA selections. They are also the reason for one of the greatest rivalries in sports.
Steph and LeBron have been going head to head for over a decade. Curry has the edge when it comes to NBA Finals matchups, but LeBron will finish his legendary run with the greatest statistical career ever.
One of the greatest things about their rivalry was that it actually was a rivalry. While they never took direct shots at one another (they’re both too classy for that), at their peaks, it was very clear that they did not like each other.
Now that they are older, however, things have changed. LeBron recently had Curry on his podcast, and after teaming up to help bring Team USA gold in the Olympics, they seem to have turned the page.
LeBron spoke about why it took until now for him to start connecting with Curry.
"When you're trying to rise to the top of the mountain you have guys that's trying to stop me from getting there and vice versa and Steph has been one of those guys throughout our career we've been trying to get to the mountaintop and we trying to knock each other off of it and that competition was brewing for a long time and every time we play against each other it still brews. When you get to a certain age and you get to a certain level and you understand that appreciating greatness and appreciating things that you won't be able to have for a long time ever after, when you're done.
You can look back on those moments, you don't want to waste an opportunity to be able to build a relationship with somebody that you kinda share some of the same, I guess, goals in life. There's so much mutual respect, and now it's just even more respect, just out of the simple fact that we can hop on a phone call or text or whatever. It was great for us to talk basketball in just the most easy, organic way with the two episodes and have that time, so it's been cool."

It’s been awesome seeing these two connect now. Hopefully, their friendship continues and they give us more podcasts together.
