Kevin Porter Jr. Reveals His Next Big Goal In The NBA
Mar 25, 2026
Recently, Bam Adebayo made NBA history, as he surpassed Kobe Bryant with an 83 point game, ranking him second in NBA history following the historic 100 point performance from Wilt Chamberlain. However, it wasn't all compliments for the Miami Heat star, as he drew plenty of criticism for the way he went about things, especially late in the game as he chased history.
There's been plenty of former players and analysts who criticized Adebayo for passing Bryant, and now, some have taken it to another level entirely. One such player is Milwaukee's Kevin Porter Jr., who took to a stream recently to declare his next goal is to pass Adebayo 'for the respect of Kobe', whom he clearly idolized growing up.
“Now that Kobe got beat, I gotta beat Bam just for the respect of Kobe”.
Unsurprisingly, many took to social media to mock Porter Jr., but given how much Bryant meant to so many players in the NBA today growing up, it's unlikely that he's the only one in the league that feels this way about Adebayo's impressive 83 point performance.

As of right now, Porter's career high in the NBA is 50, which is a very impressive number and shows that while consistency isn't what he's known for, he can go off for a massive scoring game. Ultimately though, 80+ points in the NBA is once-in-a-lifetime, with Adebayo's game coming 20 years after Bryant, so while KPJ wants to surpass Bam for his hero, that's a lot easier said than done.
