Ayesha Curry Talks About Learning From Her Husband's Greatness

Stephen and Ayesha Curry are a power couple. While Stephen Curry has been making history in the NBA, cementing himself as one of the greatest players of all time, Ayesha has had her own success through multiple different business ventures. All the while, they’ve navigated their fame with grace and without controversy. As high school sweethearts, the chances that they would make it through 15+ years of marriage despite both gaining insane amounts of fame along the way is very admirable.

Ayesha and Steph recently went on a podcast with Michelle Obama and Ayesha talked about what she’s learned from Steph over the years.

“I think I learned from him, on the flip side of what he said about me, for me, he is so even-keeled and he can compartmentalize really big emotions very well. And he does know how to block out the noise. So I’ve learned little by little, I think, how to do more of that. Because, like you said, I’m very passionate and fiery. Sometimes it works, but sometimes it doesn’t, and vice versa. And then I think I’ve learned this unwavering work ethic. I’ve never seen anything like it, but it obviously manifests itself in how things work out for him in his basketball career. I’m like, tomorrow he’ll be up 6:30, you know, working on himself when he doesn’t even necessarily have to. And so, year after year after year, I’ve seen him do things when he doesn’t have to. Then I see the results that come from that, and it’s extremely inspiring.”

This is the effect that Steph has on his teammates as well. Curry’s unwavering work ethic is an inspiration to everyone around him, and it makes anyone in his sphere strive to be better themselves. That’s what great leaders do.
