Top NBA Reporter Warns Teams Of Trading For Giannis Antetokounmpo

For a number of years now, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been among the best players in the entire NBA, highlighted by his back-to-back MVP seasons and his NBA Championship run with Milwaukee back in 2021. Despite all of that success with the Bucks, Giannis is seemingly on the way out, and while most expected him to be dealt at the 2026 deadline, it appears as though it may be happening this summer instead.

For a Bucks team with little talent around him, trading the two-time MVP would be the correct move to make, with the team looking to land future assets to turn the trajectory of the franchise moving forward. While many expect a blockbuster deal to come, long-time NBA reporter Bill Simmons has a warning for those teams that are looking to land the Bucks superstar, stating that given his injuries, he may no longer be worth it.

“He doesn’t play… He’s closer to Embiid than Jokic… He gets hurt all the time. I’d be really scared.”

This season, Antetokounmpo has appeared in just 36 games, and over the past seven years, he's been on the floor for 70 or more games on just one occasion, so clearly, injuries are a major concern for teams interested in him.

Ultimately, it's likely that Giannis will be dealt given the way the Bucks future appears to be shaping up, but if the injuries continue the way that they have, it's going to be a major risk for anyone looking to land him.
