NBPA Calls Out The Milwaukee Bucks For Trying To Shut Down Their Biggest Star

This season, there has been some immense drama surrounding the Milwaukee Bucks, with most, if not all of it involving two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, whom many expected to be dealt at the 2026 trade deadline. However, Giannis was not traded, and while many expect him to be dealt or extended in the summer, there's plenty of drama to potentially come in the next few weeks.

Right now, the biggest issue in Milwaukee is Giannis' current status, as the superstar forward wants to be on the floor, but right now, the Bucks don't want him to be playing so they can get the best possible pick for the 2026 NBA Draft. As a result, this has become a major issue, and now, the NBPA has gotten involved, calling out the Bucks for the situation involving Antetokounmpo.

"The Player Participation Policy was designed by the league to hold teams accountable and ensure that when an All-Star like Giannis Antetokounmpo is healthy and ready to play, he is on the court. Unfortunately, anti-tanking policies are only as effective as their enforcement; fans, broadcast partners, and the integrity of the game itself will continue to suffer as long as ownership goes unchecked. We look forward to collaborating with the NBA on meaningful new proposals that will directly address and discourage tanking."

Ultimately, Antetokounmpo may be playing his final few games as a member of the Bucks, and while the team don't want him on the floor, as of right now, it appears the NBPA will be pushing heavily to make it happen.
