LeBron James Not Expected To Sign With This Team Over The Summer

For 23 years, LeBron James has been at the top of his game, and while he's played for three different teams in that time, there's no doubting that all 30 teams would have loved to land him. At 41 years of age, James is coming to the end of his latest deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, and as of right now, it appears as though he'll play on in 2026-27 unless something drastically changes.

While he's aging, James is still playing at a very high level, averaging 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists per game, and while his effort has certainly taken a hit, there will be plenty of interest in him over the offseason. However, a new report from Sam Amick has revealed that he is not expected to return to Los Angeles by the majority around the NBA, as he will likely test free agency one last time in his career.

According to Amick, the long-awaited pairing of James and Steph Curry in Golden State, along with a return to Cleveland, are the two most likely outcomes, but depending on how things play out in the postseason, he could make another shock decision.

Ultimately, James' peak is clearly a long, long way behind him as he weighs up playing season 24, and while it's unlikely that he'll return to Los Angeles this summer, if he finds the right home, he could help a team turn into a genuine NBA Championship contender.
