Milwaukee Bucks Officially Waive Young Guard Weeks After Signing Him
Mar 24, 2026
Coming into the 2025-26 NBA regular season, the Milwaukee Bucks were highly optimistic about their chances, especially after landing Myles Turner in free agency to give them a genuine stretch five behind their biggest stars. Unfortunately, everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong for the Bucks, and with a record of 29-42 having them sit in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, their postseason hopes are all but over.
During the season, the team looked to change things up, and perhaps the move that gave them the most hope was signing former Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas. After showing off his ability as a scorer with Brooklyn, hopes were that a new role in Milwaukee could help, but unfortunately, that's not the case.
Now, just weeks after he signed with the team as a mid-season free agent, the team has officially waived the talented 24-year-old.
In his time with the Bucks, Thomas averaged just 11 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds in 17 minutes of action per night, and clearly, he didn't end up getting the significant role that he was hoping for when Doc Rivers drew him to Milwaukee as a free agent.

Ultimately, at just 24 years of age, Thomas certainly has a future in the NBA, but after struggling to get a long-term deal in Brooklyn and now being waived by the Bucks, it's unclear exactly what the immediate future holds for the former No. 27 overall draft pick.
