Kevin Love Set To Report to Jazz Training Camp Despite Recent Speculation
Sep 25, 2025
Earlier this offseason, the Miami Heat acquired Norman Powell in a three-team deal, a trade that saw veteran forward Kevin Love move to the Utah Jazz. Given that Love is on his last legs in the NBA, it's no surprise that he wants to play for a contending team as the former NBA Champion approaches 40 years of age.
The Jazz, however, do not fit that description, as they are still a rebuilding squad, leading to plenty of speculation that it's a matter of when, not if, Love and the team work together on a buyout. Now, things may have changed, as a recent report from Grant Afseth has revealed that Love will indeed attend Jazz training camp, suggesting that his mind may have changed on a buyout.
With the regular season still a few months away, there's time for things to change, but as of right now, the veteran forward is set to attend camp as he looks to play a significant role for this young, up-and-coming core that has been built in Utah.

Last season, Love played just 11 minutes per night for Miami, averaging five points a game in that time, so while he's no longer the player he once was, he can be a great locker room leader and a solid depth piece for a contending team. Now, only time will tell whether or not a buyout is going to become a reality for Love to chase another NBA title, but for now, it appears he's heading to Jazz camp with an open mind, with the future up in the air for the 37-year-old.
