Paul George Calls the 2024/25 Season in Philadelphia A Personal Rock Bottom
Sep 26, 2025
Paul George was once one of the most exciting and talented stars in the NBA, but in recent years, things have gone downhill for the superstar forward. Then, he signed a massive deal with the Philadelphia 76ers last season, and unfortunately for George, things didn't get much better.
Not only did he deal with plenty of injuries once again, as he was limited to just 41 games, but in that time, he averaged just 16 points on 43% shooting, his lowest mark since way back in 2011-12. Now, he's opened up on what was a very tough personal and professional season, revealing that it felt like rock bottom at times.
"One of the toughest seasons I've been a part of...just from a personal standpoint. From a motivational standpoint, can't get no worse than last year, right? That was a rock bottom kinda season."
Thankfully, it appears George is going to be back to 100% and ready to go for the beginning of the 2025-26 regular season, and with the Sixers loading up on young talent, there's plenty of optimism surrounding this team moving forward.

At 35 years of age, George isn't getting any younger, and with more than 55 games played just once in the last six years, the hope is that he's got one more healthy year in him to turn it around. Ultimately, though, PG will be remembered as an all-time great from this generation, but if he struggles again like 2024-25, it doesn't bode well for a very talented Sixers team.
