76ers’ Disrespectful Offer to Quentin Grimes Officially Revealed
Sep 26, 2025
The Philadelphia 76ers struggled for much of the 2024-25 regular season, missing the NBA Playoffs after suffering injuries to Joel Embiid, Paul George, and rookie Jared McCain. That left them with very few positives beyond star guard Tyrese Maxey, but late in the year, they did have the emergence of former Knicks and Mavericks guard Quentin Grimes.
The 25-year-old arrived in Philly in enough time to appear in 28 games, and in that time, he averaged an impressive 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, making him a breakout star of the future. However, he entered this offseason as a restricted free agent, and to this point, nothing has seemingly gotten close between Grimes and the Sixers on a long-term deal.
Now, it has been reported that Grimes is looking for $25 million per season, but according to Gina Mizell, they've responded with a seemingly disrespectful offer.
According to that report, Grimes has been offered a four-year, $39 million deal, which is obviously much lower than what Grimes believes he has earned after his breakout campaign with the Sixers.

Sure, Grimes' game is fairly limited offensively, but when given the opportunity, he proved that he can clearly be a top option for this team if they invest in him as a part of their future. However, the team now has Jared McCain, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe all on their roster, meaning that Grimes' role may always be limited, and as such, they may not be able to reach a long-term agreement this offseason.
