Jeff Teague Rips Zion Williamson After Showing Off Weight Loss At A Press Conference

After years of struggling to stay healthy and disappointing in New Orleans, it appears things have turned around for Pelicans superstar Zion Williamson. During a recent press conference, the former No. 1 overall pick revealed his incredible weight loss, stating that he's not felt this good since his time at Duke.

However, not everyone is on board with the love that Williamson has gotten in the past few days, with former point guard Jeff Teague calling out Zion for now finally doing his job and getting in shape.

"This is probably the dumbest press conference I've heard in my life. All of this is because of you. You choose to eat, be out of shape, all that. Now, all of a sudden, it's a contract year, probably looking for an extension. All of a sudden, he's in shape, and he said they believe in me. Fool, they gave you a max deal. They've been believing in you. They had to put a lot of options in his contract because you didn't believe in you. That's dumb as hell, that press conference is dumb."

While it's great for fans to see Williamson in shape, as he was meant to be a generational prospect in the NBA, it's hard to argue with Teague here, as he should have always been in shape coming into the league.

Ultimately, it's now or never for Williamson to finally take his game to the next level, and if he can finally stay in shape, the Pelicans will be a team to watch in 2025–26.
