Jayson Tatum Addresses His Game Following His Return For The Boston Celtics

Last year, Jayson Tatum went down in the Celtics post-season series against the New York Knicks, with many expecting him to miss the entirety of the 2025/26 regular season. However, he made it known quickly that he wanted to push for a return, and after months of speculation, he found his way back onto the court for a rejuvenated Celtics squad.

Since his return, Tatum has been playing rather well given his condition, averaging 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the 48-24 Celtics, who currently occupy the No. 2 seed in the tight Eastern Conference. Given what we've seen from No. 0 in his career, these numbers are quite down, and even with the injury, some have questioned his game and what he can be at the NBA level moving forward.

When he was asked this question, Tatum stood behind his game, stating that he's simply rusty and not at 100%, as he remains confident that he can get back to his best moving forward.

“I mean, I didn't lose any of my game. I'm just kind of rusty right now, finding my wind and my rhythm.”

With Tatum back on the floor and Jaylen Brown at his best, this Celtics team is loaded, and if they get into the post-season healthy, they'll be a threat to anyone in the East.

Ultimately, even at less than 100%, Tatum is still a top tier player in the NBA, but if he can find his game again this season, the Celtics will be a team to watch in the post-season once again.
