Coby White Makes Massive Statement About The Current Charlotte Hornets Team
Mar 26, 2026
For years now, the Charlotte Hornets have been one of the worst teams in professional sports, with their last post-season appearance in the NBA coming back in 2015/16. This comes despite the accumulation of young talent that they've managed, but in 2025/26, it appears things are turning, as they are currently sitting in the 10th seed in the East, putting them in the final playoff spot with a few weeks to go.
With first-round pick Kon Knueppel leading the way, these Hornets are one that could take another team by surprise, and at the trade deadline, they made some interesting moves. One fantastic pickup was former Chicago Bulls guard Coby White, and after just a few weeks with the team, he's already made a major statement about this squad and their chances.
“I've never been on a team this dangerous.”
On paper, White may not be wrong, as none of the Chicago Bulls teams he was ever on made it beyond the play-in, and with young talents like Knueppel, LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller around him, it's easy to see where this optimism comes from.

Since arriving in Charlotte, White has been fantastic as well, averaging 16 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds per game, with the team taking leaps forward since his arrival. Ultimately, the team may not experience much playoff success this season, but with the young pieces in play, it's easy to see why White and the Hornets fans are finally excited about this team.
