Jalen Williams Says the Spurs Make the Thunder a Better Team

We may have a new NBA rivalry. It has been a long time since there have been two top teams that clearly dislike one another and push each other to new heights. The Oklahoma City Thunder vs. the San Antonio Spurs games this season have been incredible. They’ve made some wonder if there is a new top NBA rivalry in the league.

The Thunder seemed completely untouchable for most of the season. Then, when the Spurs beat them three times in a row, everything changed. This week, they faced off for a fourth time, and the Thunder got their revenge.

Thunder star Jalen Williams spoke about the budding rivalry between the two teams.

“They beat us three times, so it doesn’t really happen for us. I will say, though, they make us a better team when we play them—win or lose—we have to go about playing the right way every time we play them, and it forces us to have to do other things in order to win, and we were able to do that tonight. And like I said, when you play teams like that, you just have to pay attention to detail throughout the whole entire game; otherwise, the game can kinda get out of hand, and that was the case for this one. I think last time we played them in San Antonio, we did a good job of it first half, and then we had a stretch where we didn’t do a good job of it, and then that’s when it kinda got away, and we were able to kinda nip that in the bud this game.”

The NBA should be very excited about these two teams. They are young, they are talented, and they might be around playing each other in important games for a long time.
