Donovan Mitchell Calls For Young Jazz Star To Be An All-Star
Jan 14, 2026
Donovan Mitchell has been one of the best players in the NBA since being drafted by the Utah Jazz, and now in Cleveland, he's taken his game to new levels. One of the best scoring guards in the NBA, Mitchell is set to be an All-Star for the seventh time in his career in 2025/26, and given that experience, it's safe to say that he knows what it takes to be an All-Star.
Recently, 'Spida' battled his former team, and while it was the Jazz that came out on top in a shock upset, Mitchell came away from the game incredibly impressed with one young player in particular. That player was 2023 first-round pick Keyonte George, who put up an impressive 32 points on the night as he is now averaging a career high 24 points and 7 assists this season.
That impressed Mitchell so much in fact, that after the game, he called for the 22-year old to be an All-Star this season after his red-hot start.
“I want to highlight the Jazz. They came in there and outplayed us. It started with Keyonte George, who deserves to be an All-Star.”
Last week however, George did not find himself in the top-20 in fan voting in the Western Conference, but given other ways to become an All-Star, Mitchell is putting his support behind the young star.

If George keeps up this level of play, he's going to be an All-Star many times throughout his career, and while this may not amount to much, it's clear that the 22-year old is impressing his peers in a big way in 2025/26.
