D'Angelo Russell Reportedly Rubbing Teammates The Wrong Way In Dallas

This past off-season was a good one for the Dallas Mavericks, with the team loading up on depth while adding the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, generational prospect Cooper Flagg. Despite the injury to Kyrie Irving that is expected to sideline him well into the 2025/26 season, the Mavericks were optimistic that they could compete for a playoff spot this year.

Unfortunately, they are 4-12 through 16 games, with Klay Thompson struggling and Anthony Davis injury once again, and now, alarm bells are ringing throughout the organization. Now, it's getting worse, as a new report has revealed internal frustrations in Dallas, with teammates of off-season pickup D'Angelo Russell reportedly rubbed the wrong way by his actions.

According to that report, it's his approach in practice and poor effort on defense that has caused teammates to be rubbed the wrong way, something that has plagued Russell throughout his NBA career. To this point though, it hasn't translated to the court in front of the NBA world, but with tensions boiling behind the scenes and the organization seemingly ready to move on from some veterans, this may lead to a move with D-Lo.

There's always the chance for this to get rectified if Russell wants to win his teammates back and help the Mavericks to some success, but given how tense things have been through their 4-12 start, if things don't turn around soon, it's going to lead to plenty of unnecessary drama in Dallas.
