Mark Cuban Makes Major Statement on Anthony Davis' Future in Dallas

Just two years ago, the Dallas Mavericks were in the NBA Finals, but after a shocking trade and some injuries, they've taken a major nosedive as an organization. While they have a massive piece to build around for the future in Cooper Flagg, the team have some major question marks over a veteran core of Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson and Anthony Davis.

However, as of late, reports around the NBA are that Davis is going to be used as a trade piece for Dallas, and given his injury history, this may be the best course of action. With the firing of GM Nico Harrison, former majority owner Mark Cuban is now becoming more involved once again, and now, he's delivered a statement on the future of AD and the Mavericks organization.

“We won’t. We want to try to win.”

Some on social media have looked at this as Cuban simply trying to drive up the price for Davis, but when this team is healthy, they're no doubt a group of players that could compete for a post-season spot. Unfortunately, health hasn't been easy to come by for AD in his career, especially in Dallas, and if the team get the right offer, moving him makes perfect sense.

As of right now, it's unclear what the Mavericks will do moving forward, but with a record of 4-12 through 16 games, no one would blame them if they wanted to look towards a future built around the incredibly talented Flagg.
