'We Should Be 4-0'; Sacramento Kings Coach Makes Intriguing Statement About His Team
Oct 29, 2025
In a brutal Western Conference, it's no surprise that the veteran-heavy Sacramento Kings are off to a slow start, with the team sitting at 1–3 through their first four games. That lone win came by 1 point against the Utah Jazz, while their losses average 6 points per game, showing they've been in every game thus far.
However, with a lack of true superstar talent, this team just keeps falling short, and with this roster against tough competition, that could certainly continue. Close unfortunately doesn't count in the NBA unless you get the job done, however, and one person who has made that clear is Head Coach Doug Christie, who had a scathing review of his team to this point.
“We probably should be 4–0, but we're not ready to be 4–0.”
His statement that this team should be 4–0 shows some confidence that they've been in games so far, but without a genuine closer and young talent to lead the way, they're just not ready as a unit. That's something that Christie has made clear to this point, but as of right now, it's unclear what they need to do as a unit to become true contenders in the Western Conference.

Ultimately, this is a team that certainly has the potential to grind out plenty of wins this season, but until they find their closer and a good rhythm, they're going to struggle mightily to keep up in the brutal West.
