Top Western Conference Contender Discussing The Possibility of Trading For Michael Porter Jr.

Michael Porter Jr. was dealt by the Denver Nuggets this summer, and while off the court, he represents an issue for a team's PR department; on the floor, he's been thriving in Brooklyn. With no star to lead the way, MPJ has averaged 26 points and eight rebounds for the Nets this season, but with the team in the midst of a lengthy rebuild, his future with the team has been brought into question.

Recently, he's been linked to several contending teams as an option ahead of the trade deadline, and now a top contender in the West has joined the conversation. According to reports, the Golden State Warriors have internally discussed the idea of adding Porter, with the team likely wanting to add the sharpshooter to improve their depth and firepower ahead of a potential playoff run.

"Sources say that Golden State, which helped inspire this whole notebook, has indeed had some internal discussions about whether to pursue Porter."

This year, Porter has shot 41% from beyond the arc, and while a trade to Golden State would once again limit his role, it would allow him the opportunity to compete for another NBA title while playing alongside one of the greatest players the NBA has ever seen.

On paper, the fit with MPJ and the Warriors is a good one, and with the team likely looking to unload some young players, this one makes plenty of sense as the Warriors look for one last championship run under Steph Curry and Steve Kerr.
