New Report Reveals The Two Untouchables On The Dallas Mavericks Roster

The Dallas Mavericks made a shocking, franchise-altering trade a year ago, and now, they're once again involved in plenty of speculation, this time surrounding All-NBA big man Anthony Davis. While no trade is imminent, the expectation around the league is that he will be dealt at some point this year, with the Mavericks likely to now build around No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg.

The star rookie has hit the ground running in the NBA, averaging 19 points, six rebounds, and four assists despite the Mavericks struggling to a 13–23 record through their first 36 games. Obviously, the team is intent on making him the future of the franchise, and with other veterans on this team, there's speculation that they could make plenty of moves ahead of the 2026 trade deadline.

Now, a report from Marc Stein has revealed that the Mavericks are seemingly set to listen to offers on anyone but Flagg and Kyrie Irving this season.

The Flagg report isn't a surprise, but given his injury history, it may come as a surprise to some that Irving is seen as untouchable, especially given that he may not return during the 2025–26 season, despite recent speculation that he could return.

This likely means that the likes of Davis and Klay Thompson could be on the way out, and while it doesn't mean that the rest of the roster will be traded, it means that with the right offer, the Mavericks could completely retool their roster moving forward.
