Draymond Green Reveals Whether He Believes LeBron James Should Be an All-Star

The relationship between Draymond Green and LeBron James is an interesting one. Early on in their careers, Draymond and LeBron could be considered rivals. Neither player nor team liked each other.

Their rivalry culminated in the suspension of Draymond after LeBron stepped over him in the 2016 NBA Finals, causing Draymond to swing his arm in the direction of LeBron's crotch. LeBron then whined to the media, helping urge the suspension, which resulted in basketball history being changed forever.

Then, over the years, they became friends. They play under the same agency, and they vacation and party together. In fact, some Warriors fans have been bothered by how buddy-buddy Draymond has been toward LeBron.

That’s why nobody was surprised when Draymond recently defended LeBron on his podcast, calling out the haters who don’t believe LeBron deserves an All-Star nod this season.

“I know a lot of people are like, ‘He shouldn't be an All-Star.’ Like, shut up. Yes, he should because he's an All-Star. He's been the face of the NBA for 20 years. Yeah, figure it out. But there's no world where LeBron James isn't an All-Star this year. So, I see a lot of people saying that, and I get where you're coming from, but I don't get where you're coming from. Like, he'll be an All-Star. By the way, shout out to my dog. Happy birthday. Appreciate you, champ. Much love, my dog.”

In a vacuum, LeBron probably doesn’t deserve to be an All-Star this season. However, Draymond is right that sometimes you just have to give a legend the honor. If LeBron had played more games this season, he probably would be deserving of the nod as well.
