Timberwolves Head Coach Calls Out Anthony Edwards For Not Supporting His Team After Recent Performance

The Minnesota Timberwolves have very high hopes in 2025–26, and while there's been plenty of trade speculation surrounding this team, it's a deep squad that's full of talent and potential. However, the belief around the league is that this team will only go as far as Anthony Edwards can take them, and in their latest loss to the Atlanta Hawks, it's safe to say that the team around him certainly let him down.

That letdown seemingly got to Edwards late in the game as well, as he was brought out of the game by Head Coach Chris Finch as the game descended into a blowout. After having 30 points, Edwards expressed frustration, departing the bench before the game was over, something for which Finch called him out following the game.

“Obviously frustrated with the performance, and rightfully so, but he needs to stay out on the floor and root for his team.”

Finch wasn't frustrated or angry in addressing this situation with Edwards, but rather was looking to instruct his young superstar, and with no teammates getting publicly angry about the situation either, it's likely just going to be a good learning moment for him.

No matter how good a player is, in today's day and age, a player also needs to be a good teammate, and with Edwards looking to lead the Timberwolves all the way to the NBA Finals in the coming years, it's safe to say that he'll look back on this moment as a mistake he needs to fix.
