Victor Wembanyama Addresses His Current Knee Injury

Victor Wembanyama has not only lived up to the hype since arriving in the NBA, but he has exceeded it, with many seeing him as the clear next face of the league. Unfortunately, he's dealt with a few injuries early in his NBA career, appearing in just 71 and 46 games across his first two seasons with the San Antonio Spurs.

This season, he's been healthy for the most part while missing games here and there, and now, he's addressed his latest injury, one that threatens to keep him out of the Spurs lineup a little longer.

"I'm feeling good, just sore... I was close to coming back into the game, but they had to hold me back… I expect to be back next game. I'm not sure what the medical staff expects."

As Wemby looks to return from injury, he stated that he feels good, if not a little sore, and with San Antonio battling the Indiana Pacers on Friday night, we'll see if the Spurs medical staff agrees with him as he aims to stay on the floor.

This season, injuries have been a major concern for the Spurs, with the team playing their generational star 30 minutes a game as they clearly look to keep him healthy for a playoff run. Ultimately, this franchise is built around Wembanyama for the near future, and while he may not be dealing with a major injury right now, we will see how the team handles his current situation.
