Warriors Trade Idea Lands Team Ideal Big Man to Pair With Stephen Curry

For years, the Warriors have tried to get a star big man to play next to Stephen Curry. They’ve chased players like Dwight Howard in free agency, kicked around getting Kevin Love on the trade market, and even took a risk in drafting James Wiseman with the second overall pick. They’ve wanted a star big man on the team for a long time.

That’s why, when the Anthony Davis trade rumors started up recently, the Warriors were named as one of the teams that could be interested in pursuing the future Hall of Fame big man.

Kevin O’Connor proposed one Warriors-Anthony Davis trade that would certainly make big waves in the league.

The proposed trade was:

Warriors receive: Anthony Davis

Dallas receives: Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Brandin Podziemski, Trayce Jackson-Davis, and a future first-round pick.

This is a really interesting Anthony Davis trade idea. The Warriors would be giving away a franchise legend in Draymond, but also two promising young players in Kuminga and Podziemski.

While Green is one of the few trade chips (contract and talent-wise) the Warriors have, they have never shown interest in letting him go. This is partly because he is one of the leaders of the team and the anchor of their defense.

This trade, however, gives them a new defensive anchor who is younger, bigger, and more offensively talented. The only problem is that Davis has a rough injury history, and trading for him is a risky move.

That’s what may hold this trade up. Sure, the Warriors would probably trade this strong package for Davis if they could guarantee his health. But when it comes to health, nothing is guaranteed with Davis.

Expect the Warriors to inquire about trading for Davis, but giving up this much for a guy with the injury history of Davis may be a little too rich for their blood.
