Nikola Jokić Makes History Following A Stellar 2025/26 Regular Season
Apr 13, 2026
Over the past 10 years, there have been some dominant players in the NBA, and while many look to the likes of Steph Curry and LeBron James, it's Nikola Jokić who has owned that time for the Denver Nuggets. Despite being robbed of one, potentially two MVP awards, he still has three in that time, and given his statistical output, he's putting himself in some all-time conversations with his recent performances.
In 2025/26, many have Shai Gilgeous-Alexander locked in as the MVP for the second straight season, but that shouldn't take anything away from what the Denver Nuggets superstar has been able to accomplish this season. After averaging a triple-double a season ago, in 2025/26, Jokić took his game to another level, averaging an incredible 28/13/11 in that time, showing why he's been seen as the NBA's most dominant player over the past five seasons.
In that performance, Jokić has made significant NBA history as well, as he has become the first player in NBA history to lead the NBA in both rebounds and assists per game over an entire season.
That doesn't take away his ability as a scorer either, as he's managed to average 28 points on 38% from beyond the arc, and if it wasn't for SGA, he'd likely be the runaway MVP from the season that was.

Ultimately, Jokić's peak is regarded as one of the best in NBA history, and while this isn't even his top accomplishment in his impressive career, it's an amazing feat that potentially no one in NBA history may ever recreate.
