Milwaukee Bucks Officially Rule Out Giannis For What May Be His Last Home Game
Apr 10, 2026
Over the past 18 months, it's been nothing but drama for the Milwaukee Bucks, and given the speculation surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo, there's no doubting that the team and the fans certainly want it all to end. That almost happened at the 2026 trade deadline, but a deal couldn't be found, and with just one more year left on his current contract, it's likely that he'll be traded in the summer.
That wasn't guaranteed, but given the way that the Bucks have treated him recently, keeping him off the floor, it's now all but certain. After 13 seasons in Milwaukee, it will no doubt be an emotional end to his time, and now, the Bucks have disrespected Antetokounmpo one last time on his way out.
On Friday, the Bucks will play their final home game of the 2025/26 season, but ahead of the game, they have officially ruled him out, denying him the opportunity to say goodbye to the fans after such a successful tenure with the organization.

There will be other opportunities for Giannis to say thank you to the fans, but given how much he's meant to this franchise, taking them to their first NBA Championship in five decades, this should and could have been handled much, much differently. Ultimately, if it wasn't guaranteed that Giannis would be traded this summer before now, it's almost certain now, with the Bucks set for a major reset as they look to deal the two-time MVP.
