Norman Powell Lays Out A Case That He Deserves To Be An All-Star In 2026

Norman Powell has been a very good player in the NBA for several years, and this offseason, he was acquired by the Miami Heat in a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers. To the surprise of everyone, he's taken a major leap in 2025–26, and now, he's been the key piece in this Heat team, making a genuine push for an NBA Playoffs spot with a record of 20–16.

Now, we are just weeks away from the NBA All-Star Game, and while Powell doesn't appear to be a shoo-in right now, there's a chance he could be an All-Star for the first time in his career. As a result, the 32-year-old has now publicly made his case to be an All-Star this season, as he's currently the Heat's leading scorer.

"I want to make it. I think I deserve to make it. My peers around the league, after games, are telling me I am an All-Star. Hopefully, it happens for me this year."

In 31 games this season, Powell has averaged a career-high 24.4 points along with four rebounds and three assists per game, and while those numbers don't pop, there's a chance he could push for a reserve spot in the All-Star Game.

On paper, there's a good chance that there's just too much talent in the East for Powell to make the game, but given his performance thus far, it's easy to see why Powell believes he should be afforded the opportunity.
