"Do You Prefer The Lookaway Three Or The Logo Three?": Steph Curry Weighs In On His Incredible Shots Against Jazz
Jan 5, 2026
After missing the Golden State Warriors’ matchup against the OKC Thunder last Friday, Steph Curry returned to action when the Dubs took on the Utah Jazz just 24 hours later. Making up for lost time, Curry hit six 3-pointers and finished with 31 points as the Warriors sealed the 123–114 win.
As post-game is usual with the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made, Curry filled the highlight reel with ridiculous conversions from outside. In the post-game media session, he was asked which spectacular shot he liked better: Did he prefer the one where he looked away after launching from deep, or did he lean towards the one that he shot from just past the midcourt logo?
With a snicker, Curry replied, “They’re both great.”
It was one thing for Curry to score six total points on these incredible shots. It was another thing for him to add some more swagger for a team that desperately needed to have its morale lifted up. On Friday, the Warriors were badly whipped in front of their home crowd in a 131–94 beatdown at the hands of the defending champions. Golden State shot a miserable 35.6% from the field while allowing seven Thunder players to finish with double-digit scoring.
Curry’s ankle issues sidelined him that night, and the Warriors also missed the services of Jimmy Butler (illness) and Draymond Green (rest). The two All-Star forwards rejoined Curry on the floor against the Jazz, and while Green (eight points, three rebounds, two assists) was thrown out in the second quarter after two technical fouls for complaining, Butler went the distance and finished with 15 points, three boards, and seven dimes.

With the win over Utah, the Warriors improved to 19–17. They’re now 11–5 at home, and Warriors fans will be thrilled to know that eight of their next nine outings will be held at Chase Center.
The Warriors’ home venue has been the site of countless mind-blowing shots from Curry, including an unprecedented post-game 4,000th career 3-pointer. With the Bay Area’s rabid fanbase cheering on over the next two weeks, which physics-defying outside attempt will the four-time NBA champion whip out of his arsenal? That’s for fans to find out.
