The Internet Is Going Crazy Over Viral Photo of Zion Willliamson

The internet is abuzz after Zion Williamson posted a photo to social media in which he looks quite out of shape, a month and a half before the season.
Zion Williamson isn't really built like anyone else in the NBA. At times, that is to his benefit. Despite weighing more than 280 pounds at only six feet six inches tall, the forward has otherworldly athleticism. When you combine that size and freaking ability, Williamson can feel downright unstoppable.
But that muscled up frame is also subject to injury. And Williamson has been constantly injured since he has been in the NBA. The Pelican star has only played in 214 games in his 5 seasons in the league. In the only two years where he played more than 60, 2021 and 2023, he was named to the NBA All-Star Team.
Williamson did not have health on his side during the 2024-2025 season. He began the year healthy, but soon injured his hamstring and missed 27 games. He was able to return for a few months, but a back contusion suffered in March ended his season.
The team is certainly hoping that he is working out hard for the coming season. In the image he shared, however, he is not wearing an undershirt and does not look to be in the best shape.
Even when he is not at full strength, Williamson remains a dominant player in the league. In the 30 games that he played last year, he averaged 24.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
